Jarkel Joiner Named ACC Player of the Week

Joiner averaged 19.7 points per game last week for the Pack at the Battle 4 Atlantis
RALEIGH – NC State men's basketball graduate guard Jarkel Joiner was named ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after his efforts last week at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
ACC men's basketball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a 15-member media panel and announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.
The Ole Miss transfer averaged 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in three games in the Bahamas.
He consistently got to the free throw line in all three games, attempting 27 free throws in the three contests and making 23 of them (85.1%).
Joiner was lethal in the second half of the three games, scoring 41 (13.7 per game) of his 59 points in the final period.
Joiner led NC State in scoring in its wins over Dayton and Butler in the Bahamas.
He scored a season-high 27 points in the win over Dayton on Thanksgiving day. The Oxford, Miss., scored 20 of his 27 points in the second half as he helped key a 17-0 run for the Pack that turned a one point deficit into a 16 point lead.
On Friday, he scored 15 points to lead five NC State players in double figures in the win over Butler.
Joiner and his teammates return to action Tuesday evening when it hosts William & Mary. Tipoff at PNC Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.
