NC State head coach Laurie Henes, athlete Katelyn Tuohy win regional honors

Following her perfect season and her first NCAA individual championship, NC State's Katelyn Tuohy was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Female Athlete of the Year.
After leading the Wolfpack to a second straight NCAA title, head coach Laurie Henes was named the Southeast Region Coach of the Year.
The USTFCCCA announced its award winners Tuesday. The winners were voted on by a vote of USTFCCCA coaches.
This is the seventh straight year, and 11th time overall, Henes has been named the Southeast Region Coach of the Year.
In her 17th year as head coach at NC State, Henes capped off an undefeated season with a second NCAA title, becoming the first program at the school to repeat as national champions in a team sport. The Wolfpack also won the Southeast Region Championships, ACC Cross Country Championships, Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, Joe Piane Invitational and adidas Wolfpack Invitational.
This is the first time Tuohy has been named the USTFCCCA Southeast Athlete of the Year. The sophomore from Stony Point, NY is the fourth consecutive NC State athlete to win the award.
Tuohy won the NCAA Cross Country Championship by setting a new course record (19:27.6), the Southeast Region Championship and the ACC championship, where she also set a course record. During the regular season she also finished first at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the Joe Piane Invitational.
