Miller and Rajecki Win Doubles Title at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – NC State women's tennis continued to show its prowess in doubles as Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki claimed the tournament crown at the 2022 ITA All-American Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Miller and Rajecki won five doubles matches in as many days to earn the Pack's first title in program history at the national event. The Wolfpack duo beat Kari Miller and Jaedan Brown of Michigan in the championship match, cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Wolverine duo that had advanced out of the qualifying bracket.
With their appearance in the final, Miller and Rajecki earned an automatic selection to the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, Calif. The win marks two Division I collegiate majors in a row that the Pack has come out on top in double competition. Miller and now-alumna Jaeda Daniel became the first national champions in NC State women's tennis history by claiming the 2022 NCAA Doubles Championships crown in May.
Abigail Rencheli and Sophie Abrams also competed in the doubles main draw but fell in their first-round match. In singles, Rencheli started her run in the main draw and reached the round of 16. Rajecki put together an impressive tournament of her own, winning three matches in the qualifying bracket to punch her ticket into the main draw of singles. The Wolfpack junior defeated three ranked opponents, each in straight sets, before falling to the nation's third-ranked player in her first match of main draw action.
Abrams, Gina Dittmann and Miller each competed in pre-qualifying singles, with Abrams advancing to the final match of that bracket.
NC State is set to continue fall action next weekend as it participates in the ITA Carolinas Regional in Winston-Salem, N.C., from Oct. 13-17. The tournament serves as another opportunity for the Wolfpack to earn berths to the upcoming ITA National Fall Championships, which is scheduled for Nov. 2-6.
