
Pack Rifle Falls to No. 6 Akron

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 19 NC State rifle team split its matches at Army this weekend after falling 4,695-4,662 to No. 6 Akron on Sunday.
A day after posting a program-record score of 2,329 in smallbore in a win over No. 16 Army, the Wolfpack recorded a score of 2,310 in smallbore. NC State then finished its day with a season-high score of 2,352 in air rifle to finish with a team aggregate score of 4,662.
In smallbore, Roman Karadsheh and Katie Tedeschi tied for third overall with a score of 580. Karadsheh's score of 580 marked a career high, while freshman Kendall Goebel also finished inside the top 10 with a tally of 577.
In air rifle, the Pack recorded a season-high score of 2,352 behind strong countable performances from Karadsheh (589), Ben Salas (589) and Tedeschi (588). Despite not featuring in the countable lineup, Lauren Crossley paced all NC State shooters in air rifle with a career-high score of 591.
Kyra Meade also logged a personal best in smallbore, finishing with a score of 574.
The No. 6 Zips finished Sunday's match with a smallbore score of 2,322 and an air rifle score of 2,373 to finish the match with an aggregate tally of 4,695.

NC State returns to the range on Friday, Nov. 11, when the Wolfpack travels to Charleston, South Carolina, for a pair of matches at The Citadel. The Pack will face The Citadel on Friday before concluding its weekend trip against Navy on Saturday, Nov. 12.
