NC State duo advance to ITA finals

CARY NC State's Joseph Wayand and Rafael Iziquierdo Luque defeated Andrew Zang and Michael Heller of Duke to advance to the ITA doubles finals in Cary.
Wayand and Iziquierdo will take on Filippo Moroni and Juan Lopez De Azcona of Wake Forest today at the Cary Tennis Park. The doubles final will follow the singles final at 10 a.m. The doubles are not expected to start before noon.
Wayand and Iziquierdo Luque's path to the finals included knocking off teammates, and top-seeded duo of Martins Rocens and Fons Van Sambeek in the round of 32.
Monday afternoon, Wayand and Iziquierdo Luque 6-7, 7-6, 10-3 in the semifinals.
Iziquierdo Luque also advanced to the semifinals in the singles bracket, falling to Casey Hoole (South Carolina), 7-6, 2-6, 6-4.
