
NC State XC Closes Regular Season with Pair of Competitions on Friday

RALEIGH - The NC State cross country teams are back in action this weekend, heading to Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour, as well as having select members participate in the ECU Pirate Invitational.
Both events will be held on Friday.
Annually one of the premier events in the nation, the Nuttycombe Invitational, held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis., will feature an 8-kilometer men's race and a 6-kilometer women's race.
The women's B race will start at noon and the men's B race will start at 12:40 p.m. The women's A race will start at 1:20 p.m., followed by the men's A race at 2 p.m.
The No. 1 NC State women's team will be one of 20 top-25 teams participating in the event.
The Wolfpack women have won both events they've competed in this season, capturing the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary and the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend., Ind. At the Joe Piane Invitational, junior Katelyn Tuohy set the course record with a winning time of 15:50 to help NC State get past the second-ranked New Mexico Lobs and sixth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
Tuohy won National and ACC honors of the week for her effort.
The NC State men's cross country team won the Adidas XC Challenge to open the season before taking ninth place at the Joe Piane Invitational.
