GREENSBORO, N.C. – Melissa Evans, Kaylee Frazier and Taylor Rowland of the NC State volleyball team have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
With these three selections, NC State has placed three or more student-athletes on the All-ACC Academic team five times (2005, '10, '11, '16, '20 and '21) since the league began naming the team in 2005. Evans and Frazier make their way onto the academic squad for the second time in their careers while Rowland makes her first appearance on the team.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Evans finished the fall term with a 3.25 GPA in graduate school studying liberal studies. The Porter Ranch, Calif., native landed on the 2020 All-ACC Academic Team while being on the ACC Honor Roll in 2019 and 2020.
Frazier boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall semester as she studied applied statistics and data management in graduate school. Overall, she has earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Honor Roll every year in her career as she held up a 3.746 cumulative GPA in undergrad. In 2019, Frazier was named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Rowland, majoring in elementary education, capped off her fall with a perfect 4.0 GPA as well, compiling a 3.799 cumulative career GPA. Since coming to NC State as a transfer, Rowland has been placed on the Dean's List and has earned Scholar-Athlete status in every term and was recognized on the All-ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2020 and 2021.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
