RALEIGH – Following a pair of conference victories that extended its current winning streak to four games, NC State women's basketball moved up a spot to check in at No. 4 in the Associated Press Top 25 Rankings.
The Wolfpack built upon its nation-best active streak of top-five rankings, pushing that number to 25 straight polls. NC State has been ranked fifth or higher in every AP poll since Week 3 of last season (Dec. 7, 2020).
Prior to this week's poll, NC State had spent three weeks in a row as the nation's No. 5 team. The Pack has been ranked as high as No. 2 this season.
Now in the midst of conference play, the Pack has put together a 14-2 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark against ACC opponents. NC State has won its last 13 matchups against conference foes, with that marking the longest such streak for the team since the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons.
NC State most recently defeated then-No. 19 North Carolina (72-45) and Miami (76-64). The Wolfpack's rivalry win over the Tar Heels was its third over a ranked team this season and made NC State the first time in ACC women's basketball history to reach 400 league victories. NC State then followed that with a solid road decision over the Hurricanes to wrap up its 2-0 week of competition.
The Wolfpack is in action on Thursday, Jan. 13 for a road game at Virginia. NC State then returns home for three in a row against No. 16 Duke (Jan. 16), No. 3 Louisville (Jan. 20) and Virginia Tech (No. 23).
The game against the Blue Devils is already sold out, and limited tickets for the matchups against the Cardinals and the Hokies remain at GoPack.com/BuyTickets.
