RALEIGH - NC State men's tennis sophomore Braden Shick has earned a singles berth in the US Open Junior Championships and will compete in the first round Friday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.
Shick's first-round matchup will bring a competition against Brazilian Joao Victor Couto Loureiro. Fans can follow US Open action in the US Open app.
"Ever since I was little I've watched the US Open," said Shick. "It'll be a good experience to actually play in it. It's nice to be at the top with all the Americans I've played with since I was 12 years old."
Shick joined the Wolfpack program in January of 2021 but did not compete during his initial season with the squad.
