Softball Adds Deven Boland as Director of Player Personnel

RALEIGH – NC State softball head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift has announced the addition of Deven Boland to the coaching staff as the Director of Player Personnel.
"Player development is not something we just talk about here at NC State, it is something we are deeply invested in," Patrick-Swift said. "Creating this position and hiring Deven elevates that player development. Deven's cutting-edge view on the game using data and technology along with his out-of-the box thinking will help to push our players and staff to be our best. He is well-versed in the cutting-edge technology systems we have here, so his ability to help gather and interpret data for our staff and players will be a game changer."
Boland comes to NC State after serving as the Associate Head Coach for the North Iowa Area Community College softball program since 2019. In his role he managed all recruiting aspects for the team and helped with player development by monitoring videos and developing efficient practice plans.
Boland earned his bachelor's degree in enterprise leadership from the University of Iowa in May of 2019.
