
Women’s Soccer Set To Face Campbell Thursday

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team (1-0-1) will wrap up a three-game road swing Thursday when it makes the short trip to Campbell (0-1-0). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Eakes Athletics Complex in Buies Creek, N.C., and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday will be the 16th meeting between the Wolfpack and Fighting Camels, as NC State owns a 14-0-1 advantage in the all-time series.
The teams last met on Feb. 16 of this year in Raleigh, and the Pack earned a 1-0 win.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State capped off its opening weekend of the 2021 campaign with a 2-1 win at Old Dominion on Sunday. Jameese Joseph (9') and Jenna Butler (87') were once again the team's goal scorers, as they now each have two goals on the season.
The Pack finished the match placing three of its six shots on target, and controlled possession for 59 percent of the contest. Out of the 15 members who played, eight were freshmen and five of them made the starting XI.
BUTLER EARNS NATIONAL HONORS FROM TOPDRAWERSOCCER
Following a standout performance on opening weekend, Butler was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week. She was responsible for scoring two of the team's four goals on opening weekend.
Butler scored the equalizer in the 65th minute against the Hoyas to eventually help the squad earn a strong result, then tallied the late go-ahead goal in the 87th minute against the Monarchs.
