RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State softball team has added transfer Brittany Jackson to the roster for the upcoming 2022 season. Jackson played in 155 games over the last four seasons at Kansas in center field, and is coming off a 2021 season that saw her earn NFCA All-Region honors.
Â
Jackson will have one season of eligibility at NC State.
Â
"We are very excited to add such a high caliber player and person to our program," said NC State head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift. "Brittany is coming in having been an everyday player in her Big 12 career while also coming off an NFCA All-Region season. Our center field position has been played at an extremely high defensive level for us the last few seasons, and Brittany will be able to continue that for us."
Â
Jackson started all 40 games she appeared in during the 2021 season. She was second on the Jayhawks with a .365 batting average and 46 hits, while leading the squad with 10 doubles and 10 stolen bases. Jackson also added 21 RBI and scored 29 runs. She posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, making all 81 put outs from center field.
Â
She tied Kansas' single-game record for most hits with five against South Dakota on March 21.
Â
During her Kansas career, Jackson racked up 476 career at-bats in 155 games. She comes to NC State with a career batting average of .315, and an impressive .985 career fielding percentage (only four errors in her career).
