Butler Picks Up Third All-America Honor Of Season

NC State baseball's Jonny Butler picked up his third All-America honor this week, as he was recently named a second team All-American by ABCA/Rawlings.

Earlier this week, he earned First Team Atlantic All-Region honors from ABCA/Rawlings, which put him up for All-America consideration. He was additionally tabbed an All-American by NCBWA and Baseball America.

Butler continues to be one of the most dangerous hitters in the country, as he went 3-for-4 with a home run and career-best five RBIs in his College World Series debut on Saturday. Through the NCAA Tournament, he is 9-for-25 (.360 BA) with 12 runs batted in.

He leads the team with a .385 batting average, 53 RBIs and a .682 slugging percentage, and ranks third on the squad with 14 home runs this year. Butler finished the regular season with an ACC-best .406 clip and 11 consecutive multi-hit games to collect First Team All-ACC honors.

NC State continues College World Series action Monday against fourth-seeded Vanderbilt at TD Ameritrade Park at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
