RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball dropped its series opener to #21 Duke Friday evening in a five-inning 10-0 matchup. The Wolfpack move to 25-21 on the season, while Duke is 36-10.

Duke took an early 8-0 lead, before Brooklyn Lucero settled in in the circle for the Wolfpack. Lucero pitched 4.2 innings of relief where she allowed six runs (one earned) on five hits with a strikeout. The Blue Devils then added an additional two runs in the fifth inning following an NC State fielding error.

NC State continues the series Saturday with doubleheader against Duke beginning at 4:30 p.m. The first game will be carried on ACC Network with the following game available on ACCNX.
