Wolfpack Squads Selected to Compete in 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The fifth-ranked NC State women's cross country team and the 13th-ranked Wolfpack men's cross country team have each been selected to compete in the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday.
NC State's women will compete in their seventh-straight NCAA Championships while the men's squad is set for its sixth-consecutive trip to NCAAs.

The championships are set to take place Tuesday, Mar. 15 and will be hosted in Stillwater, Okla. by Oklahoma State. The women's 6K will begin at 12:50 p.m. EST and the men's 10K will follow at 1:40 p.m. EST, and both races will be broadcast on ESPNU starting at 12:30 p.m. EST.
2020 ACC CHAMPIONSHIP REWIND
The Wolfpack women claimed their fifth-straight Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) title on Oct. 30, winning the ACC Championship meet with 47 points as three members of the squad finished in the top 10.
Redshirt senior Dominique Clairmonte claimed the ACC individual title with a time of 19:55.1 that was 11 second faster than the second-place finisher. Senior Hannah Steelman was NC State's second team member to cross the finish line, running a 20:17.3.
On the men's side, NC State tabbed a second-place finish. Senior Ian Shanklin took home the highest finish of his career with second place. Shanklin posted a 23:08.5 while redshirt senior Joe Bistritz earned sixth place with a mark of 23:27.3.
Ten members of the team earned All-ACC honors. Clairmonte and Steelman earned the laurels on the women's side in addition to Mariah Howlett, Kelsey Chmiel and Ashley Holt.
The men's competitors who tabbed the honors were Shanklin, Bistritz, Gavin Gaynor, JP Flavin and Hannes Burger.
