
Volleyball Can't Outlast Cardinals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The NC State Volleyball team fell to #14 Louisville in straight sets (24-26, 22-25, 13-25) Sunday evening in Louisville, Ky., despite a solid performance from Jade Parchment. Parchment recorded a match-high 12 kills with a .360 hitting percentage, while also adding eight digs in the losing effort.
NC State (8-9, 7-9 ACC) was led defensively by Riley Shaak who tied her season-high with four blocks. The Wolfpack continued their balanced offensive effort as seven players registered a kill.
MATCH RECAP
The first set was tightly contested before Louisville jumped out to a 23-16 lead. NC State put together a dynamic 7-0 run to tie the score, 23-23. After an ensuing Louisville timeout, the Cardinals were able to regain the momentum and hang on to win the set, 26-24. NC State was led offensively in the first set by Parchment, who tallied five kills on a .444 hitting percentage.
NC State came out energetic in the second set, jumping to an early 14-7 lead behind four kills from Parchment. Louisville withstood NC State's offensive onslaught and put together a 10-2 run of its own, taking a 17-16 lead. The Cardinals never looked back, going on to win the set 25-22. Louisville's momentum from the second set carried them into the third, as the Cardinals jumped out to an early 9-3 lead. With NC State reeling, Louisville continued its dominate play, posting a team hitting percentage of .480 and eventually winning the set, 25-13.

NC State is back in action next weekend, April 2-3, as the Wolfpack hits the road for its final pair of ACC matches against Syracuse and Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla.
