Dant Adds Mile Bronze to Tally, Pack Men Finish 8th at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State men's swimming and diving program wrapped up its 2020-21 campaign with an eighth-place team finish at the NCAA Championships. The squad finished with 164 total points after the four days of competition.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP HONORS:
The Pack garnered six individual All-America citations, and five NC State relay squads were cited with All-America honors at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
All-American
- 800 freestyle relay: Miller, Knowles, Gezmis, Tapp (6:12.06 – fifth place)
- 200 freestyle relay: Henderson, Tapp, Izzo, Stokowski (1:16.24 – eighth place)
- 500 freestyle: Ross Dant (4:12.37 – eighth place)
- 400 medley relay: Stokowski, Kusto, Henderson, Tapp (3:04.47 – eighth place)
- 100 backstroke: Kacper Stokowski (44.37 – second place)
- 1650 freestyle: Ross Dant (14:31.17 – third place)
- 400 freestyle relay: Izzo, Stokowski, Miller, Tapp (2:48.47 – fifth place)
Honorable Mention All-American
- 50 freestyle: Giovanni Izzo
- 200 freestyle: Luke Miller
- 200 medley relay: Stokowski, Kusto, Sobolewski, Izzo
1650 FREESTYLE:
Ross Dant highlighted the day with the best mile swim of his career. Coming out of the fastest heat, the Wolfpack sophomore went a career-best 14:31.17 to take home bronze. His swim bettered his mark that ranks second in NC State program history, and he finished the meet as the only member of the Pack to earn All-America honors in multiple individual events.

400 FREE RELAY:
NC State wrapped up the national meet with a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Giovanni Izzo (42.73), Kacper Stokowski (42.27), Luke Miller (41.68) and Hunter Tapp (41.79) went just off their seed time with a mark of 2:48.47.
100 FREESTYLE:
