Volleyball Plays Pair of Matches in Winston-Salem

The NC State volleyball team returns to action this weekend, with a pair of matches on the campus of Wake Forest. NC State (5-6, 4-6 ACC) will look to rebound after last weekend against #22 Pitt and Wake Forest. The Wolfpack will play the Panthers March 13 at 4 p.m. followed by a March 14 4 p.m. match against Wake Forest. Sunday's match will be broadcast on ACCNX.

LAST TIME OUT
NC State's five-match win streak was snapped last week with two losses to #14 Notre Dame and Miami. Despite the loss, NC State had its third highest hitting percentage of the season, notching a .278 as a team. The Wolfpack was led against Miami by Melissa Evans' 21 kills on a .340 hitting percentage. Evans moved into third in the rally-scoring era of the program with 1110 career kills.

SCOUTING PITT
Pitt (7-4, 6-4 ACC) is coming off a huge win against No. 20 Georgia Tech where they swept Georgia Tech, snapping the Yellow Jackets eight-match win streak. In that match Pitt had a well balanced attack, with six Panthers recording six or more kills apiece. The Panthers rank first in the ACC and 17th in the country with 13.32 assists per set. Sabrina Starks also leads the conference in total blocks with 54.

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest (0-8, 0-7 ACC) is still looking to pick up its first win of the 2020-21 season, after dropping a pair of contests last week against #13 Louisville. The Demon Deacons are led by Caroline Kuhn and Olivia Saunders who average 2.59 and 2.36 kills per set, respectively.
