Galarneau Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Fifth year Alexis Galarneau has been named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Ranked at No. 7 in the nation in singles, Galarneau earned the honors after posting a pair of ranked singles wins during NC State's first weekend of ACC play. He opened the weekend with a 7-6(4), 6-2 win over No. 71 Tin Chen of Louisville on Feb. 19, a match that the Wolfpack claimed 4-0.
In NC State's 5-2 win over Notre Dame on Feb. 21, Galarneau was the first competitor with a singles win. The Laval, Canada, native cruised past No. 6 Richard Ciamarra 6-0, 6-1. Galarneau additionally tabbed a doubles win on the day, playing with Robert Turzak. No. 23 Galarneau and Turzak earned NC State's first doubles win of the matchup, taking down Matt Gamble and William Howells 6-3.
