RALEIGH – The Wolfpack jumped up two spots in the Associated Press Top 25 poll to move back to No. 2 in the nation on Monday. The ranking ties as its best of the season and once again matches the best AP standing in program history.
The placement marks NC State's third week in the 2020-21 campaign during which it has been ranked No. 2. The Pack was also ranked second on Jan. 18 and Jan. 25, and NC State women's basketball has spent a total of 11 weeks in program history as the nation's No. 2 team.
After starting the season at No. 8, the team moved into the top five on Dec. 7 and has remained there every week since. This most recent poll marks its 12th-straight week in the AP Top 5, which is the longest such streak for NC State since it spent the final 12 weeks of the 1977-78 campaign ranked fifth or better.
Headed into its final week of the regular season, NC State owns a 15-2 overall record and a 10-2 mark in league play. The Pack is in the midst of a three-game winning streak, with its victories against Clemson (86-65), Wake Forest (66-47) and North Carolina (82-63) all coming by 19 or more points.
