RALEIGH – NC State women's soccer's Lulu Guttenberger has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday afternoon.
Guttenberger is one of 12 players who were named First Team honorees from District 3, which includes all Division I schools from North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
This is the first honor in her career that the Velburg, Germany native has received from CoSIDA, but it is the fifth academic award in her career as she is a three-time ACC All-Academic Team honoree and earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Third Team honors in 2019. Additionally, she has been named to the Dean's List and ACC Honor Roll every season of her career.
After graduating in December of 2020 with a degree in business administration, she is currently working towards her Master of International Studies and has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average since arriving on campus in the fall of 2017.
Guttenberger was recently recognized for her efforts on the field as she earned Third Team All-ACC honors, her third career honor from the league. She started all 18 matches in the regular season and has scored three goals from the back line while leading the team with five assists for a combined 11 points.
As a First Team recipient, Guttenberger is now eligible for consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be announced December 10.
