Men's Tennis Concludes Action at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The NC State men's tennis program concluded ITA All-American Championships play on Sunday, a tournament at which the squad was represented by Yannai Barkai, Robin Catry, Rafa Izquierdo Luque and Luca Staeheli.

Play opened on Friday with prequalifying singles action. Barkai took on St. Joseph's Alp Sentay in his first-round matchup, battling hard throughout the match but ultimately falling in a 6-7(2), 7-6(5), 1-0(8) decision.

Action continued for the Pack on Monday with qualifying singles. Freshman Staeheli slated a 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over David Stevenson of Memphis to advance to the second round of play.

The last match of the tournament was played on Tuesday when Staeheli took on No. 117 Daniel De Jonge (Pepperdine) in the second round. De Jonge took the match with a score of 6-3, 6-1.
