LAST TIME OUT:
The Wolfpack competed at UNC's Triple Distance meet and hosted Tennessee in the first home dual of the season just last week. Both the men and women cruised their way to victory at both contests, showing proof of their dominance early on in the season.
PACK IN THE POLLS:
After a solid start to the 2021-2022 campaign, both of NC State's squads find themselves ranked in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll, with the men checking in at No. 4 and the women ranked No. 3.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:
NC State junior Nyls Korstanje garnered ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time of his career after securing four individual victories in last week's duals versus UNC and Tennessee.
NATIONAL WAVES:
Thirteen of the Pack's individual swims from the opening weekend of action rank in the national top five to start the season. Korstanje (19.66 50 freestyle, 46.41 100 butterfly), Kacper Stokowski (46.52 100 backstroke, 1:43.83 200 backstroke), Katharine Berkoff (52.15 100 backstroke, 1:54.05 200 backstroke) and Sophie Hansson (59.34 100 breaststroke, 2:09.89 200 breaststroke) lead the way with two top-five times apiece.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY:
The unranked Wildcat men return to the pool this weekend after falling to the Hoosiers of Indiana (171-115) and defeating the Redhawks of Miami University (191-102) earlier in the season.
The No. 15 Kentucky women make the trek to Auburn with a 2-1 record. The Wildcats scored easy wins over Indiana State University (251-49) and Ohio University (190-102) after their 138-162 fall to Indiana earlier in the month.
SCOUTING AUBURN:
The Lady Tigers began their season with a No. 23 ranking in the CSCAA preseason poll released last week. Their home meet this weekend marks the team's second meet of the season after securing a victory over Florida State (177-123) last weekend.
On the men's side, the squad suffered a close six-point loss to the men of Florida State last weekend, finishing 147-153.
