
#11 NC State Rifle Set For Season Opener at Home

RALEIGH – For the first time since the 2016-17 campaign, the NC State rifle team will begin its season at home as the Wolfpack is set to host No. 2 West Virginia on Sunday in Reynolds Coliseum.
Coming off a stellar 2020-21 season, the Pack begins the year ranked No. 11 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association. NC State returns seven shooters from last season led by Travis Stockton who spearheaded a couple of NC State best team scores last year.
Joining the seven returners are two incoming freshmen in Katie Tedeschi and Samuel Burrow.
2020-21 RECAP
NC State finished the 2020-21 season ranked 12th in the final CRCA poll after an outstanding season that included four of the programs top-10 all-time scores. NC State's season-high came against Nebraska on Jan. 24, 2021 where the Wolfpack put together a 4676, two points off the program record.
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
The Mountaineers are undefeated this season, sitting at 3-0 after defeating three ranked teams – No. 2 Ole Miss, No. 8 Murray State and No. 6 Memphis. In its last outing, West Virginia defeated Memphis, 4718-4622 at home on Oct. 10.
