Sophomore averaged 18 points, nine rebounds in pair of Wolfpack victories
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore forward Jada Boyd of the third-ranked NC State women's basketball team was named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
It marks the first such honor of her career, as she joined teammate Kayla Jones as the two Wolfpack players to garner the award this season.
The Petersburg, Va., native averaged 18 points on 12-of-19 (.632) shooting and nine rebounds to help lead NC State to victories at Georgia Tech (84-75) and versus Boston College (76-67). She came off the bench in both outings. Those wins pushed the Pack's season record to 10-0 for the third-straight season, and NC State also owns an unblemished 5-0 ACC record.

Boyd posted a team-leading and career-high 26 points against Georgia Tech, which marked the most points scored by a member of the Pack in a single game this season. She added 10 rebounds in that outing for her third career double-double, and she also dished out two assists without any turnovers.
Her efficiency was perhaps the most impressive part of her performance in that game. Boyd shot 9-of-12 (.750) from the floor against the Yellow Jackets. She scored 14 first-half points in just eight minutes of court time, and she tallied more points than minutes played (23).
In the Pack's Sunday win against Boston College, Boyd found double figures again with 10 points, all of which she scored in the second half. She also tied for the team lead with eight rebounds on the afternoon.
On the year, she is one of four members of the Pack averaging double figures with 11.7 points per game coming off the bench. She shoots 61 percent from the field and averages 6.7 rebounds through the six outings that she's played in.
NC State hits the road for back-to-back games beginning on Thursday, Jan. 7 when it visits Virginia Tech. Tip-off from Cassell Coliseum is scheduled for 8 p.m., and the game will be televised on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks.
