Lewis Named co-ACC Wrestler of the Week

R-Fr. scored a pin over #10 Millner of App State

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State's R-Fr. Hunter Lewis named co-ACC Wrestler of the Week after he pinned the #10 wrestler in his weight class this weekend.

Wrestling at 149 pounds against a pair of Appalachian State wrestlers, Lewis scored a first-period pin just 1:29 into his match versus 10th-ranked Jonathan Millner. It was the second win of the day, as he also pinned Francis Morrissey in a time of just 1:42 to win both of his matches in the round robin against the Mountaineers a day after the dual between the two schools.

Hunter is now 3-0 on the season, with all three wins coming via pins. The Stoughton, Wisconsin, native red-shirted last season and was unable to compete in open tournaments due to a knee injury.

NC State will open up a stretch of five straight weekends of ACC duals, as the #4 Wolfpack (2-0) will travel to Virginia for a 5 p.m. contest on Friday night.
