RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State Rifle head coach Emily Holsopple has announced the Wolfpack's Fall 2020 schedule, set to begin Saturday, Oct. 3 against GARC opponent, Navy. All five opponents in the Pack's stacked schedule finished the 2019-20 season with a top-20 ranking, including four of the five who finished in the top-10.
"We're very excited to get back to competition next week at Navy," said Holsopple. "The team has been putting in the work on the range and starting to see some solid growth in scores. I'm proud of their work this preseason. Everyone came back energenized and ready to go. We have a lot of new faces and a really young team that is passionate about making a statement."
NC State finished the 2019-20 season with a No. 13 national ranking after reaching a program-high No. 7 ranking earlier in the season. Emily Fisher continued her standout career in 2019-20, finishing in the top-10 in 10 of the team's 12 matches. She was named All-GARC Honorable Mention and took 18th at the GARC Championships. Makenzie Sheffield made a spalsh last year as a freshman, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in air rifle.
In Holsopple's third season as head coach, the Wolfpack will look to continue to build on its recent success with six returners from a year ago and the addition of five talented newcomers.
