Galarneau to Return for 2021

RALEIGH, N.C. - Alexis Galarneau has announced that he will return to NC State for the 2020-21 season. The NCAA granted all spring student-athletes an extra year of eligibility after the spring 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19.
"Super pumped to be back!" said Galarneau. "Looking forward to continuing my progression with this team, and Pack Risin'!"
Galarneau has been an impactful player for the Wolfpack, posting a 13-1 doubles and a 10-1 singles record in 2020 action. He concluded 2020 play ranked No. 20 in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings and earned the Wolfpack's first All-American honor since 2009.
The Laval, Canada native defeated two nationally-ranked doubles opponents and five nationally-ranked singles opponents in NC State's 2020 campaign, including a win over second-ranked Yuya Ito to seal the Wolfpack's win over No. 4 Texas.
Galarneau tabbed Second Team All-ACC honors in 2017 and earned First Team All-ACC laurels in 2018 and 2019. He additionally was the first member of the Pack to earn back-to-back NCAA Singles Championship bids (2018, 2019) since at least 2000.
