INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - 2020 NC State gymnastics graduate Drew Grantham has been granted a Winter NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Grantham will receive a $10,000 scholarship for part-time or full-time graduate study at a university or professional school.
"I can't find the words to accurately express how grateful I am for this award and how fortunate I was to have my Student-Athlete experience at NC State," Grantham said. "This university and athletic department have done so much for me over the past four years, and it was the experience to last a lifetime. I cannot wait to see what my future holds, but I am thankful that the NC State community has had a direct impact on my life. Thank you to every member of the Wolfpack for their efforts in helping me to win this scholarship and their role in helping to mold me into a confident and ambitious young adult. Go Pack forever!"
Grantham was a member of the Wolfpack's 2018 EAGL Championship team and won a share of the EAGL Vault Title the same season. The Durham, N.C. native earned multiple places in the NC State gymnastics record book as she posted the fourth-most 9.900 or higher scores in program history with 19, 12 of which were earned on floor exercise. Grantham additionally holds the third-most career 39.000+ scores in NC State gymnastics history with 21.Â
Grantham totaled 15 All-EAGL honors during her career and was named EAGL Senior Gymnast of the Year for the 2020 season. She was an involved member of the Wolfpack outside of the gym as well as a member of NC State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She was the organization's president during her senior year (2019-20).
"I want to extend a huge congratulations to Drew for such a significant accomplishment," said head coach Kim Landrus. "The impact she had on NC State Gymnastics and our athletic department has left a legacy that others will aspire to follow. She will always be remembered for her commitment to excellence academically, athletically, as President of SAAC and as a core leader of the gymnastics program. It has been an honor to be part of her storied career and watch her become the successful individual she is today!"
