Thayer Thomas Named to Paul Hornung Award Watch List

Award goes to most versatile player in college football

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Louisville Sports Commission today named 50 multi-talented college football players to the 2020 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse.

A redshirt-junior, Pack WR Thayer Thomas was named on the preseason list. Last season, he averaged 13.7 yards per punt return, the seventh-best mark in school history. He returned a punt 76 yards for a TD vs. Ball State, and at West Virginia he both caught and threw a TD pass. At WR, he was the team's fourth-leading receiver with 31 catches for 334 yards and three scores.

The award, now in its 11^th season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.
