Q: What made you pick NC State?
I feel in love with the campus and also North Carolina – it's so beautiful!
Â
Q: How old were you when you started playing volleyball and why did you start playing?
I started playing volleyball in 10th grade. I actually tried out for volleyball every year since seventh grade but I got cut from every team until I finally made it. I just loved watching the sport and I knew I wanted to play.
Â
Q: When did playing in college become a goal for you?
Once I started playing club, I started getting letters in the mail and e-mails. It all started to become very real from then on.
Â
Q: You had a shoulder injury last fall. What has the recovery process been like?
Having shoulder surgery was something that made me so much stronger. It was hard to not be able to play with my teammates, but I learned a whole new side of volleyball from watching.
Â
Q: What is your favorite memory at NC State over the last year?
That's a hard question – I've had so many great memories! It was probably going and supporting my friends fraternity propates because at my last school that was something that was not big. It was really amazing to experience.
Â
Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
To be honest….I can sing J
Â
Q: Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get that nickname?
I actually have a lot of nicknames! But my two most common ones are probably Mmach and Macho. I honestly don't know how I got them but they just stuck!
Â
Q: What is your major and dream career?
My major is communications and I would love to work in sales or marketing.
Â
Q: What are some of your goals for the 2020 season?
I want to be able to prove myself and finish out my volleyball career on a positive note. I am very excited for the season.
Â
Q: What's something you wish you would have known as a young player or during your recruiting process?
Probably to visit more schools to get the complete feel and not focus as much on the volleyball program.
Â
Q: Who or what has been your biggest influence?
Probably my Mom and Dad. I love them and look up to them in so many difference ways.
Â
Q: Are there are any other athletes in your family?
My little sister, Uchenna, plays basketball at Duke!
