Markell Johnson Named to All-ACC Second Team

Senior guard leads the ACC in assists
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State senior Markell Johnson was named to the All-ACC Second Team on Monday morning.
The 2019-20 All-ACC Team was determined by a 75-person selection panel consisting of the league's 15 head coaches and 60 members of the media.
The Cleveland, Ohio native averages 13.0 points and 6.63 assists per game this season. It is the highest scoring average of Johnson's career and he is on track to lead the ACC in assists for the second time in his career.
Johnson also ranks third in the ACC in steals at 1.93 per game and fifth in the league with a 2.07 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Johnson previously had earned Honorable Mention All-ACC honors after his sophomore season.
Johnson will close his career near the top of many NC State records.
With 596 career assists, he ranks third in NC State history on the career assists list and is just six assists shy of moving into the top-25 on the ACC's career assists chart.
The two-time ACC Player of the Week is the third player in NC State history to score 1,100 career points, pass out 500 assists and register 150 steals.
He is also one steal away from breaking into the top-10 list at NC State for career steals.
NC State (19-12) returns to action Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the second round of the ACC Tournament. The Pack will play the winner of Tuesday's first round matchup between (13) Pitt and (12) Wake Forest
