GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State women's basketball junior Kayla Jones earned a spot on the 2020 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office on Wednesday morning.
Jones maintains a 3.3 grade point average as a Sport Management major at NC State. The Wolfpack forward was also previously an ACC Academic Honor Roll member during the 2017-18 school year.
In addition to her success in the classroom, Jones has also made tremendous strides on the court. The Jamesville, N.C., native earned her first career start at the beginning of the 2019-20 campaign and went on to start every game of the regular season. She averaged 10.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 29.0 minutes per game and posted five double-doubles. Jones led NC State in scoring five times and notched a career-high 17 points on two occasions.
The Wolfpack earned the No. 2 seed at the upcoming ACC Tournament and opens postseason play in Greensboro, N.C., on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m. NC State will take on one of three teams - No. 7 seed Georgia Tech, No. 10 seed Notre Dame or No. 15 seed Pittsburgh - depending on how the early rounds of the tournament pan out. Friday's game will be broadcast live on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks.
