Brady, Kline Punch Tickets to NCAA Diving Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – James Brady and Madeline Kline qualified for the NCAA Championships on platform thanks to impressive outings on the final day at the NCAA Zone B Championships at the Ramsey Center in Athens, Ga.
Both seniors placed within the top eight after two rounds of competition to secure their places at the NCAA Diving Championships.
"Today was by no means a pretty day, but Madeline and James got the job done and I am looking forward to dancing through March," said head coach Yahya Radman. "Both Madeline and James kept very cool heads in the face of adversity and showed composure and determination in joining the swimmers at the NCAA meet. It's a true testament for the type of kids that this program draws in the attitude and the mindset that is associated with it. I could not be more proud of how this program is moving forward with the incredible kids we have in it."
Brady posted a cumulative score of 713.70 on the day to notch a fifth-place finish to punch his ticket to his fourth consecutive platform NCAA Championship appearance. The Chapel Hill, N.C., native was the first NC State platform NCAA Championships qualifier since 1996 when he first accomplished the feat as a freshman.
Over the course of the week, Brady advanced to all three finals.
Kline advanced to her second final in as many days and earned her spot at the championship for the second time in her career with a 493.55 performance over two rounds of competition, placing eighth. The Damascus, Md., native is a two-time ACC Champion on platform.
