No. 6 Men's Tennis Achieves Program-Best Ranking

TEMPE, ARIZ. - The NC State men's tennis team achieved its highest ranking in program history, checking into the Oracle/ITA rankings at No. 6, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Tuesday.

The Wolfpack has been ranked in the top 10 since Feb. 5, 2020 and has bested its previous program-best ranking five times during the season.
NC State competed against No. 2 North Carolina in its first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) matchup of the season on Wednesday, March 4. The doubles pair of Alexis Galarneau and Robert Turzak defeated No. 4 Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard, 6-3, in the match, but ultimately the Tar Heels got the 4-0 win over the Wolfpack.
The team continued ACC play on Saturday, March 7, taking on Virginia Tech and defeating the Hokies 4-2. NC State claimed the doubles point, and singles wins by Galarneau, Martins Rocens and Yannai Barkai sealed NC State's first ACC victory of the season.
NC State returns to action Friday, March 13 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center for a doubleheader with Boston College (12 p.m.) and UNCG (4 p.m.).
