Negrete Named EAGL Rookie of the Week

RALEIGH - Freshman Chloe Negrete has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The accolades mark the third consecutive week that a member of the Wolfpack has collected EAGL honors.

Negrete garners the EAGL Rookie of the Week distinction after posting a career-best score on beam in the Wolfpack's meeting with North Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 1, achieving a 9.850 in the event. The Frisco, Texas native matched her career-high floor score of 9.850 in NC State's meet with the Tar Heels. She additionally notched a 9.700 on vault

The freshman's score on beam was good to make her part of a tie for first place, and she tabbed a spot in a tie for third place on floor with her career best-tying mark.

The Wolfpack gymnastics team continues action Saturday, Feb. 8 as it travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers at 2 p.m.
