Rifle Takes Seventh at GARC Championships

MEMPHIS, TENN. – The 12th-ranked NC State rifle team took seventh in the stacked 2020 GARC Championship field. The Pack was led by Emily Fisher who finished 18th with an aggregate score of 1169 while freshman Makenzie Sheffield also had a top-30 finish with an 1168, coming in 27th.
Entering her first conference championship, Sheffield had an outstanding performance Saturday in the air-rifle event for a top-15 finish. She fired a 592, one off her career-high. Addy Burrow rounded out the top-20, also one off her career-best, with a 591.
Fisher had the team's best smallbore result of the weekend after finishing 17th on Friday with a 580.
Sheffield will represent the Wolfpack in two weeks as an individual competitor in the 2020 NCAA Rifle National Championships. The freshman will compete in the air rifle event on Saturday, Mar. 15.
