NC State Selected First in EAGL Preseason Poll

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO - The NC State gymnastics team has been picked to finish first in the 2021 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
The Wolfpack picked up 59 points in the poll, including five first-place votes. The poll is based on ranking projections provided by the head coach of each of the eight EAGL member institutions.
EAGL 2021 PRESEASON RANKINGS
1. NC State - 59 points (Five First-Place Votes)
2. Pittsburgh - 49 points
3. George Washington - 46 points (Two First-Place Votes)
4. New Hampshire - 35 points
5(t). Temple - 30 points (One First-Place Vote)
5(t). North Carolina - 30 pointsÂ
7. Towson - 25 points
8. LIU - 14 points
The squad totaled 19 All-EAGL honors in the 2020 season, 12 of which were earned by six returning gymnasts. Included in the Wolfpack's returning 2020 All-EAGL honorees is senior Lauren Kent, who was named 2020 EAGL Gymnast of the Year. Head coach Kim Landrus was named EAGL Head Coach of the Year at the conclusion of 2020 action while assistant coaches Philip Ogletree and Bob Starkell earned their second consecutive EAGL Assistant Coaches of the Year honors.
