Softball Announces Winter Camp Opportunities
12/2/2020 9:55:00 AM | Softball
The NC State softball staff has announced a pair of camp opportunities this winter, including a Virtual Softball Series available for coaches and a youth clinic.Â
The virtual softball series is a three-week virtual session available for coaches, beginning on Jan. 5. The first week will focus on #HomerunMindset and how it is developed, installed and maintained throughout the process. Jan. 12's session focuses on how the Wolfpack coaching staff teaches hitting and movement, in addition to sharing drills. The final session on Jan. 19 "Softball Today" focuses on what technology NC State Softball uses and why, the recruiting landscape, how to develop a team culture, and an open Q&A forum. The cost is $40 a session of $110 for all three.
Due to NCAA Dead Period, prospective student-athletes or parents (non-coach) are prohibited to sign up for the live session. However, recorded sessions will be available to purchase at a later time for anyone.Â
The NC State coaching staff will also hold a youth series clinic in Wilmington, N.C. on Jan. 9 from 9:30am-1pm. The clinic is for all youth players from third to sixth grade and will be held at Wilmington Indoor Sports Complex. Skills covered during the clinic include throwing mechanics, throwing program, defensive group drills, positional breakdown, base running, hitting talk and drills. During the pitching portion, each pitcher must have someone present to catch them. The cost is $125 per camper.Â
The coaching staff is also willing to travel, safely, for youth camps. Please reach out to paswift@ncsu.edu for more information. Full information about Wolfpack Softball Camps is available at wolfpacksoftballcamps.com
