NC State defeated previously unbeaten #21 Liberty
RALEIGH, N.C. – Four different Wolfpack players earned ACC Player of the Week honors after helping the Pack to a 15-14 win over #21 Liberty this past weekend.
Â
• RB Zonovan Knight – Running Back of the Week
Tallied 166 all purpose yards, and scored both of the Pack's touchdowns. He led the team in rushing, receiving, touchdowns and kickoff returns. Knight rushed for 96 yards on 14 carries - a 6.9 average, caught 5 passes for another 34 yards, and had 36 yards on a pair of KOR returns.
Â
Knight was also named to the weekly Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll, the second time this season.
Â
• DE Daniel Joseph – Defensive Lineman of the Week
The Pack's defensive end had 1.5 sacks in the game to lead the Pack in that department. The 1.5 sacks came on back-to-back plays in the second half. He also finished with five tackles, tops among the Pack's defensive line.
Â
• LB Isaiah Moore – Linebacker of the Week
Led the Wolfpack in tackles with 13, and also tallied two tackles for loss and half a sack. He scored the Wolfpack's first safety in 10 years in the one-point win, as he tackled the Flames' runner for a three-yard loss in the end zone.Â
Â
• CB Aydan White – Rookie of the Week
True freshman who had played just six snaps from scrimmage prior, was in for 17 plays against the Flames. He tallied his first career interception in a crucial situation: Liberty was up 14-9 with less than 7 minutes left in the game and on 3rd and 8 at the 20-yard line. White made the diving grab to pick the pass (Flames' QB Malik Willis had thrown just one INT all season prior to the game). The Wolfpack would go on to score the winning touchdown on the ensuing drive.
