Wolfpack Ranked Eighth in First AP Poll of the Season

NC State earns highest preseason AP ranking since 1990-91
RALEIGH – After winning the 2020 ACC Tournament title and finishing last season with a 28-4 record, the NC State women's basketball team begins the 2020-21 campaign ranked eighth in the first Associated Press (AP) poll of the season.
It marks the highest preseason AP ranking for the program since 1990-91 when it also started its campaign ranked eighth. It is also the Pack's first time in the preseason top 10 since 2001-02.
Earlier this week, the Wolfpack was ranked sixth in the ESPNW Way-Too-Early Top 25. The Atlantic Coast Conference also released its preseason order of finish today, and NC State was voted to finish second in the league this season by both the conference's head coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel.
The 2020-21 NC State women's basketball schedule will be released at a later time.
