Leary and Emezie Earn ACC Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. – After coming away with a 30-29 win at #24 Pitt this past weekend, a pair of Wolfpack offensive players received weekly ACC honors. Devin Leary was named the ACC Quarterback of the Week and Emeka Emezie was named a co-ACC Receiver of the Week.

Making his first start of the season, Leary completed 28-of-44 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He set career highs in completions, yards (high first 300+ game as well), and TD passes.

Leary and the offense got the ball down 29-24 with 1:44 left on the clock and no timeouts and drove the offense 75 yards for the winning score, going 6-of-9 for 75 yards on that final drive, including the winning touchdown with 23 seconds left.

He became the first Wolfpack QB with 330+ passing yards, 4 passing TDs and no INTs in a game since Russell Wilson in 2009.

Emezie had his first 100-yard receiving game of the young season, and also set a career-high with two TD catches. For the game, he finished with seven catches for 102 yards. Emezie caught the game-winning touchdown with 23 seconds remaining, a 13-yard throw from Leary. His first TD came in the second quarter, and was a 35-yard grab to put the Pack up 17-7.

Leary also received national recognizition. He was named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award's Great 8 and also one of eight quarterbacks named to The Manning Award "Stars of the Week."
