Rifle Opens Season With a 4665

ANNAPOLIS, MD. – Sophomore Addy Burrow had a career performance to help the NC State Rifle team open its 2020-21 season with a 4665 score. It ties for the seventh-highest aggregate score in program history and the second-highest score in the month of October for the program.
NC State outscored Navy in smallbore, 2312-2310, while Navy took the narrow advantage in air rifle, 2360-2353, for the overall win.
Burrow took second overall with a career-high aggregate score of 1177, topping her previous best by eight points. The Williamson, Ga. native also won smallbore with a personal-best 584 and tied her career-high in air rifle.
NC State saw several outstanding performances from its freshman, four of whom made their collegiate debuts Saturday. Travis Stockton finished fifth overall with an aggregate score of 1164 with Ben Salas taking eighth, to round out the top 10.

- Makenzie Sheffield also showed some improvement, setting a career-high with a 582
- It was the first collegiate performance for Stockton, Salas and Lauren Crossley.
- The Pack's team score of 2312, was just two points shy of a top-10 program score and the highest smallbore score for NC State since Nov. 10, 2018.

- Stockton had a solid 589, which included a perfect second and third series.
