
Pack Falls in Road Action at UNC

UNC jumped out to a 14-0 lead with a first quarter score (16-yd TD run) followed by another TD three minutes into the second quarter (10-yd TD run).
The Pack made the QB change to Fr. Ben Finley after that second scoring drive and in his two drives, Finley helped the offense to 146 of its 175 yards of first half offense in his two drives.
The Pack got on the scoreboard with its last possession of the first half, when Finley found Emekie Emezie 42 yards to cut the lead in half with less then a minute remaining.
UNC added a 40-yard field goal on the last snap of the half to make it 17-7 at the intermission.
The Tar Heels added three third quarter TD drives and took a 38-7 lead.
QB Bailey Hockman re-entered the game and led the Pack on a 4-play, 75-yard drive capped by his 1-yard TD run with 0:35 left in the third quarter.
UNC tacked on 10 more points, before Bailey led a 7-play, 75-yard drive which featured a 30-yard TD pass to freshman WR Anthony Smith for the final score of 48-21.
WOLFPACK SPOTLIGHT DRIVE
9 plays, 80 yards, 2:21 – Finley to Emezie 42-yard TD
After falling behind 14-0, NC State responded with a TD drive late in the half to cut the lead in half. Coming off the bench in his second drive, Fr. Ben Finley capped an 80-yard, 9-play drive by finding WR Emeka Emezie from 42 yards out for his first collegiate TD pass, which came with 54 seconds left in the half. On the drive, Finley was 6-of-8 for 78 yards.

NOTABLES
• Fr. QB Ben Finley made his debut coming in in the second quarter. Pre-Finley the Pack gained 29 yards on 10 plays in its first three drives. Finley's first drive went 61 yards in eight plays (but he was picked off in the end zone). On the drive Finley was 3-of-4 for 50 yards.
• The Pack's 358 yards passing were the most for a Pack team since the 2018 regular season finale against East Carolina (421).
UP NEXT
The Pack will have its lone bye of the season next weekend, and the Pack will return to action on Friday, Oct. 6 hosting #11 Miami.
