RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis team begins the 2020 dual match season ranked No. 23, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Wednesday.
The Wolfpack completed the 2019 season also ranked No. 23 after recording a 19-11 record. NC State's 8-4 finish against conference opponents marked the most conference wins in program history and included a win over Duke for the first time since 1980. In the conference tournament, the Wolfpack advanced to the semifinals before falling to the eventual Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) champion Wake Forest.
In fall tennis competition, redshirt-sophomore Joseph Schrader took home the singles title in the black draw at the Duke Bonk Invitational while the doubles pair of Tadas Babelis and Yannai Barkai won doubles competition at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
The Wolfpack's first 2020 action takes place Jan. 11 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center with a doubleheader against Elon (11 a.m.) and USC Upstate (4 p.m.).
