RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team (19-1, 8-1 ACC) moved up one spot in the Associated Press Top-25 Poll to improve its season-high ranking to No. 7.
The Wolfpack has spent eight weeks of the 2019-20 season ranked in the national top 10 in both the AP and USA Today polls. Monday's placement of seventh marks the program's best since Jan. 28, 2019 when NC State achieved its highest ranking of the 2018-19 campaign. Before then, the Pack had not been ranked No. 7 or higher since the 1999-2000 season.
This past week, NC State earned a pair of ACC wins at Pittsburgh (88-44) and at home against rival UNC (76-68) to maintain its spot at second in the conference standings.
NC State opens a three-game road stretch on Thursday, Jan. 30 as it visits Clemson. Tip-off from Littlejohn Coliseum is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks.
