Men's Basketball Holds First Official Practice of 2019-20 Season

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's basketball team held its first official practice of the 2019-20 season on Tuesday afternoon at the Dail Basketball Center.
Tuesday marked six weeks out from the Pack's first game of the season, a Nov. 5 tilt against ACC-foe, Georgia Tech.
Head Coach Kevin Keatts led his 15-player squad through a two hour practice to start the season.
Quick Facts on the 2019-20 NC State Basketball Team
-Â NC State returns six of its top seven scorers from last season.
- The Pack returns 72.6% of its points scored from last season.
- Senior guards Markell Johnson and C.J. Bryce are the team's top returners in numerous categories. Johnson is the team's leading returner in points (12.6 ppg) and assists (4.2 apg), while Bryce is the team's returning leader in rebounds (4.6) and steals (40)
Prolific from Three-Point Range in 2019-20?
NC State made 292 three-pointers in the 2018-19 season, tied for the second-most in program history. The Pack's returning players this season accounted for 256 of the 292 three-pointers made last season. Braxton Beverly (76 three-pointers), Markell Johnson (68), C.J. Bryce (38) and Devon Daniels (37) all averaged to make over one three-pointer per game last season. In addition, NC State welcomes grad transfer Pat Andree to this year's team. Andree made 189 three-pointers in three seasons at Lehigh, including 149 the last two seasons where he shot over 40 percent from long distance in both seasons.
Seven Newcomers Join the Program
Head Coach Kevin Keatts is welcoming seven newcomers to the program this season. NC State has added three players with Division I collegiate experience at other programs (grad transfers Pat Andree and Danny Dixon and transfer Thomas Allen), a junior college transfer (A.J. Taylor) and a true freshman (Dereon Seabron). The Pack has also welcomed two walk-ons in Max Farthing and Chase Graham.
In addition, redshirt freshmen Manny Bates will make his Pack debut this season after redshirting last season.
