PROMOTIONS:
#PACKXC IN THE POLLS:
NC State enters the weekend with both squads having moved up a few spots from their preseason national standings. Entering Friday's meet, the women check in at No. 7, and the men sit at No. 12.

Both Wolfpack teams started the 2019 cross country campaign featured in the top 15 of the preseason U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, marking the first time since 2007 that the programs have accomplished that feat.

NC State's men and women were both picked as the preseason favorites to win the NCAA Southeast Regional, with the teams ranked atop the preseason standings for the region. The Wolfpack women were also chosen to win their fourth-straight conference title in a vote of the league's head coaches.

2018 REWIND:
The Wolfpack will look to continue its success in 2019 after both programs closed out the 2018 season with regional titles and top-15 national finishes.

NC State swept the NCAA Southeast Regional for the second time in three years, with the women claiming their third regional title in a row. All of the Pack's scorers garnered All-Region honors as 10 NC State runners finished in the top 25 across the men's and women's championship races.

Both programs went on to post solid results at the 2018 NCAA Championships. NC State's men finished 11th for the team's best national finish since the 2011 season, and the Wolfpack women placed 13th. It was the first time since 2003 that both squads placed in the top 15 at the national meet.

Postseason accolades flooded in for the teams' leaders as head coaches Rollie Geiger and Laurie Henes were both named NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Coaches of the Year. Henes added her third-straight and fourth-overall ACC Women's Coach of the Year honors at the end of the 2018 season after leading NC State's women to their third league title in a row.

HEADED TO THE HALL OF FAME:
As announced in early August, Geiger will be inducted into the USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2019.

The 28-time ACC Cross Country Coach of the Year is one of six coaches who will be honored at the induction ceremony, which will take place on Dec. 17 as part of the USTFCCCA Convention in Orlando, Fla.

UP NEXT:
Following the Pack's home meet, the squads will head to South Bend, Ind., for the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. That meet is set for a 1 p.m. start on Friday, Oct. 4 and will be raced at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
