Bennett to Compete at 2019 USA Diving Junior Nationals

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State diver Bayne Bennett is set to continue his summer of national competition this week as he heads to Knoxville, Tenn., for the 2019 USA Diving Junior National Championships. The meet will be held July 30-August 6 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on Tennessee's campus.
The Southern Pines, N.C., native is set to see action in both one-meter and three-meter competition at the national meet.
Bennett kicked off his summer by taking home a pair of top-10 finishes from the 2019 Region 2 Championships in May. The redshirt freshman won gold on three-meter with a score of 509.55, and his finishes on both boards advanced him to the Zone A Championships in June.
At Zones, Bennett placed in the top eight on both the three-meter and one-meter springboards. His best finish of the meet came on one-meter, where he took sixth place with a mark of 452.55. The Wolfpack diver also placed seventh on three-meter with a score of 463.10 to advance to Junior Nationals in both events.

Wednesday, July 31
1M Prelims – 11:35 a.m.
Saturday, August 3
3M Semifinal – 12:15 p.m.
3M Final – 4:40 p.m.
Sunday, August 4
1M Semifinal – 12:15 p.m.
1M Final – 4:40 p.m.
The winners from each event at the Junior Nationals Championships will be eligible to compete with Team USA at the upcoming Junior Pan American Games.
