Collin Shick Named 2019 ITA Scholar-Athlete

TEMPE, Ariz. – Collin Shick, a rising junior on the NC State men's tennis team, was honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second season in a row, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Thursday afternoon.
Shick compiled a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) during the 2018-19 academic year. The biomedical engineering major also earned a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the second time in his career in 2019, as announced by the league office earlier this month.
The Wolfpack has had at least one player honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete every season dating back to at least the 2013 campaign.
Shick, a native of Greensboro, N.C., represented NC State at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the ITA Carolina Regional during fall action this past season, and he also attended the National Collegiate Tennis Classic at the start of the spring dual campaign.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the most recent academic year and have been enrolled in their present school for at least two semesters.
